Charleston Probate Court Announces Upcoming Free Estate Planning and Administration Workshops
Charleston, SC — The Charleston County Probate Court has announced the upcoming schedule of free public workshops on Estate Administration, Estate Planning, and related probate topics, led by Judge Irv Condon. These educational sessions are designed to help individuals, families, and fiduciaries better understand the probate process, plan for the future, and navigate court-related responsibilities with confidence.
Offered at no cost to the public, the workshops are available in both virtual and in-person formats, making them accessible to a broad audience across Charleston County and beyond. Judge Condon, a long-time advocate for public legal education, will lead each session, offering practical guidance and clear explanations of complex estate and probate issues.
A series of virtual Estate Planning workshops will be held at 10:00 a.m. on the following dates:
- January 12
- February 2
- March 2
- April 6
In addition to the virtual sessions, the Court will host in-person workshops at the Main Branch Library Auditorium, located at 68 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC 29401. These sessions include:
- Guardianships and Conservatorships on January 8 at 2:00 p.m., focusing on court oversight, responsibilities, and protections for vulnerable individuals.
- Estate Planning on January 15 at 2:00 p.m., providing an in-depth, face-to-face overview of planning tools and probate considerations.
The workshops are intended for the general public and are particularly helpful for individuals serving as executors, personal representatives, guardians, conservators, or those beginning the estate planning process. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and best practices for preparing and administering estates.
Advance registration is required for both virtual and in-person sessions. Interested participants are encouraged to register early, as seating for in-person workshops may be limited.
