RESOURCES FOR EXECUTORS AND ESTATES

Artifcts Adds 3 New Features Perfect for Estate Work

Artifcts, the archiving and storytelling tool, announces three features that will greatly enhance their utility to those working through the tangible “stuff” in an estate.  Artifcts’ new Up Next Report is perfect for organizing and moving “The Stuff” forward.  The new Private Note Field is pretty handy in estate work too.  To round out the trifecta of new things in Artifcts, The Executors Edition, Artifcts now offers Customizable Reports.  These are the latest developments out of the product updates from Artifcts, the digital archiving and organization tool and app.

Up Next Report

To break down an estate’s contents into categories to move things forward, and have a guide to what’s next for all of the items, Artifcts can now create an “Up Next Report”.  This report lists your Artifcts collection according to the “In the Future” field designations you have selected (sell, donate, bequeath, etc.)  The Up Next Report will help executors be more organized by creating lists of ‘The Stuff’ by what’s next, (sell, donate, bequeath, etc.).  To clarify, an executor can now create a report organized into the “Sell” items, the “Bequeth” items, the “Donate” items, etc.  These categories are determined by the user in the Quick Form, in the field, “In the Future.”

The truth of the matter is that at the end of the day, digitizing the stories and financial value by creating Artifcts addresses one set of needs, but you still must deal with the physical stuff in the room, sorting it and moving it forward it, too.

With lists organized this way, you can work through the next steps yourself, with family, or with an organizing, or estate professional to get the ‘stuff’ where it needs to go next.
The full list of categories is as follows…

Sell – Artifcts can even email you a reminder.

Bequeath – Optionally add details on whom it should go to.

Donate – You can specify details if you’d like.

Keep in the family – Your “Description or story” might just make the case for why.

As you wish – A great way of saying, “Anyone? I know I’m the mighty executor but I’m all ears on this one.”

It’s too late – Enjoy the memories; the item is already gone.

Private Notes

Even the most transparent executor may require a little space to jot private notes.

Artifcts now offers an optional “Private Notes” field. As the name suggests, anything you enter here remains visible only to the author, even when you share the Artifct. The only exception is if  someone else has “Full Control” over the Artifct, rather than the default “View” or “Edit” access.

Users will find this new field in the Full Form when creating or editing an Artifct, right after the “Story or Description”—a natural place to add those extra details that might be sensitive.

Customizable Reports

There are many reasons an executor may need reports for their Artifcts.  There are of course many applications for Artifcts in estates, and likely many needs to report in different ways.  Luckily, Artifcts created a way to customize reports.

Appraisal and estate management are 2 situations that may require different outputs for of reports from Artifcts. Executors may enjoy the ability to be versatile in their reporting depending on the reports purpose.  Now when users click “Download,” they’ll have the option to select the specific fields and related files required.

Artifcts is constantly seeking feedback from users, professionals, and consumers, to adapt the product to the needs of real use.
