Volunteers of America Michigan – Burton Thrift Store is a nonprofit Volunteers of America Michigan thrift store and donation center serving Genesee County. The organization accepts gently used clothing and household property and its Michigan thrift program also handles furniture, linens, books, shoes, jewelry, collectibles, sporting goods and other reusable specialty items. Donation centers operate inside the thrift stores, making this a practical outlet for executors and families sorting usable personal property after an estate.

VOA publishes a detailed non-acceptance list that includes hazardous materials, non-working appliances, large appliances, cribs, car seats, pianos and organs, damaged or soiled furniture, and several obsolete electronics. Pickup may be available for qualifying furniture and household goods; donors should verify current rules before loading a vehicle. Save a trip!
