Southwest Harbor Public Library Used Book Sale Donations
Services
Southwest Harbor Public Library accepts donated books for its used-book sales. Its official donation guidance emphasizes clean, attractive, saleable books and excludes items with damaged bindings, odors, stains, outdated computer or test guides, outdated medical information, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest condensed books, magazines, textbooks, cassettes and videotapes. Donors with more than a handful of books are specifically asked to call so that a drop-off can be arranged. The program is therefore a useful outlet for estates with well-kept books, but it should not be treated as a destination for damaged libraries, obsolete reference sets or general household goods.
