Shaw Public Library accepts hardcover and paperback books for children, teens and adults, contemporary and classic fiction, popular nonfiction, audiobooks on CD and DVD movies. Its official policy excludes poor-condition books, encyclopedias, textbooks, condensed books, outdated reference books, abridged audiobooks, audio cassettes, VHS tapes, music CDs and large coffee-table books. Donations must be delivered while the library is open, and donors with more than two boxes are asked to call first because space limitations can cause temporary pauses. Most donated material not added to the collection is sold to fund library projects and services.
