River City Rescue Mission operates a thrift store in Vicksburg and states that donations are accepted seven days a week. The store sells donated electronics, clothing, tables, desks, dressers, books, shoes, glassware, and other reusable household goods. It also offers pickup service during normal business hours, which may be useful for executors handling larger estate items or multiple pieces of furniture.

Thrift-store proceeds support River City Rescue Mission’s work in the Vicksburg and Warren County area. Donors should provide items that are usable and appropriate for resale and should call before arranging a pickup or bringing unusually large, damaged, or specialized goods.

For an executor, administrator, or family sorting estate property, this can be a useful targeted donation option when the listed goods are still usable but no longer needed by the estate. Do not assume the organization accepts every household item or an entire estate load. Confirm current condition standards, quantity limits, drop-off or pickup procedures, and whether bulky, unusual, or estate-sized donations can be accommodated before moving property.

Save a trip! Call first to confirm hours and that they are accepting what you’re bringing.
