My goal is to help those with inherited photo collections create a lasting legacy for their loved ones and future generations. I understand that managing family photos and videos can be overwhelming and time-consuming.
When working with clients, I typically start by understanding their goals and priorities for their photo collection. This includes discussing how they want to organize and preserve their photos, as well as any specific memories or stories they want to highlight. From there, I work with them to create a customized plan that meets their needs and fits their budget.
Depending on the client\’s needs, my services can include:
Preserving and archiving -Inherited collections are treated with the same approach archivists use. The collection is rehoused into archival enclosures for safekeeping, and then carefully reviewed, preserving original order and provenance. A finding aid can be created if desired.
Digitizing photos- If a collection contains print media (photos, negatives, slides, old home movies, documents, memorabilia etc) I can create high-quality digital files, which makes them easily accessible and shareable, and acts as a back-up to the originals.
Creating custom photo books- I help clients create beautiful photo books that tell the story of their family history and memories. I can also preserve old photo albums and scrapbooks, and recreate them both digitally and physically.
Backup and preservation- I work with clients to ensure their digital photos are safely backed up, and their analog media is archivally stored, so they can be enjoyed for generations to come.
