The Kittery Freebie Barn is a town-operated reuse program at the Kittery Resource Recovery Facility where residents can donate clean, usable items for free redistribution to other residents. The Town of Kittery states that the program is intended to keep goods with useful life out of the waste stream. New or used items may be accepted when they are clean, dry and in good working condition, subject to volunteer review and available space. The town specifically notes that large furniture, broken items and electronics are not accepted, and seasonal limits may apply to clothing. Drop-off and pickup occur during published Freebie Barn hours, which can vary with volunteer availability and weather. For estate cleanouts, this can be a practical local outlet for qualifying smaller household and personal items that remain usable. Save a trip! Call Kittery Freebie Barn first to confirm hours and that they are accepting what you’re bringing.
