Janet’s Korner Thrift Store
Services
Janet’s Korner Thrift Store, operated by Community Christian Concern in Slidell, accepts clean donated goods in good repair. Its official page lists clothing, shoes, household items, small furniture such as chairs and end tables, jewelry, purses and wallets, small appliances, antiques and collectibles, some electronics, tools, bicycles and scooters. Donations are received on Tuesdays and Thursdays during posted daytime hours. The store does not accept large furniture, tube televisions, computers or printers, VCR equipment, car seats, baby beds, construction materials, knives or books.
Community Christian Concern uses its thrift operation as part of a broader local ministry serving people with basic-needs and housing-related assistance. The detailed acceptance list makes Janet’s Korner particularly useful when an estate contains smaller furnishings, tools, housewares, clothing or selected electronics but not oversized furniture or construction-related materials. Donors are asked to sort categories separately where possible to assist volunteers.
