The Friends of the Pittsfield Public Library accept book donations for their annual sale during regular library hours from March through October. The official guidance excludes encyclopedia sets, magazines, condensed readers, textbooks and older reference books; donated books should generally be no more than ten years old and must be clean, not musty and not damaged. Donors who cannot bring books to the library are invited to call about possible arrangements. Funds raised by the Friends support library projects, materials, programs and equipment. This is a useful seasonal outlet for estate books that meet the published age and condition standards.
