The Friends of Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library accepts book donations at its Used Book Store during the store’s open season, generally May through November, and only during open hours. Donations are limited to gently used books, DVDs, and CDs in sellable condition. The store does not accept moldy or soiled materials, marked-up books, old travel guides, magazines, textbooks, atlases, dictionaries, encyclopedias, or similar unsuitable items.

The Friends specifically state that they do not accept estate clear-outs because their space and volunteer capacity cannot handle them. For an executor, this therefore works best for a selected, modest quantity of high-quality books and media rather than a whole-house library. Proceeds from the volunteer-run store support Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library programs and materials. Save a trip! Call Friends of Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library Used Book Store first to confirm hours and that they are accepting what you’re bringing.
