Charlevoix Area Humane Society maintains an official wish list for physical donations used in shelter operations. Accepted needs include cat and dog toys, collars, fleece blankets, leashes, feeding dishes, pet food and treats, wash cloths, bleach, dish soap, laundry detergent, sponges, computer paper, batteries and other listed supplies. This is a specialty donation program rather than a broad household-goods thrift store, but it may provide a practical outlet for clean pet-care goods, linens and certain cleaning or office supplies found during an estate cleanout. Donors should review the current wish list because needs can change. For executors, administrators and families clearing a residence, this can provide a focused outlet for qualifying estate property that matches the organization’s current needs.
