Alcona Humane Society is a nonprofit animal-welfare organization serving Alcona County from its Lincoln shelter. Its work includes caring for homeless animals, finding adoptive homes, returning lost pets to owners, humane-treatment education and reducing companion-animal overpopulation. The shelter accepts physical donations that support daily animal care, including dog and cat toys, collars and leashes, towels, wash cloths, large blankets, cleaning products, paper goods, trash bags, laundry supplies and other current wish-list items.

This is a specialized donation option rather than a general household-goods outlet. For executors, administrators and families clearing a residence, it can provide a useful destination for clean pet supplies, linens and shelter-use goods that match current needs. A donation box is available at the shelter, and the organization also directs gently used items to its Precious Paws resale operation. Save a trip! Call Alcona Humane Society first to confirm hours and that they are accepting what you’re bringing.
